The 3 inch Horizontal Model Steam Engine Boiler Kit is suitable for driving our single cylinder engines under light load.

It has a simple cylinder design made of 3.5mm thick aluminium alloy, heated from underneath by a ceramic gas burner. There are no cross tubes, flue or chimney unlike our other boilers which have higher output.

The boiler cylinder is provided complete and tested (certificate provided), the base is a kit of fully machined, unpainted parts that can be easily assembled with simple tools.

It is recommended that the base is coated with heat proof black aerosol paint. The boiler can be left or sprayed black to match (as per photos).

The standard kit includes:
- Aluminium boiler body/cylinder
- Safety valve
- Steel base sides and ends
- Steel burner guides
- 8 stainless steel screws
- 5mm insulation sheet
- Steam outlet valve
- 2 Brass water fill plugs (including 1 for the optional Feed Pump Clack Valve)
- BIX ceramic gas burner, jet and holder
- Test Certificate and Instructions

NOTE: The photos are of the assembled and painted boiler - see picture of parts as supplied - the 4 small mounting brackets are now incorporated into the side panels. The opening for the burner can be at either end of the boiler. Also 2 burner guides are included in the kit which hold the burner in place.

Optional extras include gas canister regulator/pipe and adapter, ready made copper steam pipe (with connector for specific engine), water level gauge and pressure gauge (0-30psi). The water level gauge and pressure gauge are installed on the boiler cylinder if that option is purchased.
