Single Cylinder Horizontal Water Cooled
Gas/Petrol Model IC Engine
Complete and Ready to Run

The single cylinder horizontal engine made by Microcosm, China, is a simple design, yet retains the basic mechanics of early internal combustion (gas/petrol) engines which powered many workshops, factories and farms in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

The engine's inlet and outlet valves are operated by a side shaft/cams similar to early 4 stroke engines made by Crossley Bros amongst others. Engine speed is adjusted by a carburettor, is water cooled with separate tank, is "open crank" with oil splash plate and has a small fuel tank under the engine.

This engine has 2 heavy brass flywheels to ensure smooth operation at relatively low speeds.
The included ignition system is powered by a 4.5V battery pack (batteries not included), has solid state ignition module and hall effect points. Also included is a starter shaft for electric drill, spare piston rings and instructions.
